About Agassiz Animal Hospital
We Love Pets
Located in beautiful Agassiz, BC our veterinary hospital has been providing services for over 20 years.
We are happy to see dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, mini pigs, pocket pets, reptiles and avian species of all shapes and sizes.
Agassiz Animal Hospital has been locally owned and operated in Agassiz since 1994. When Dr. Pettis bought the practice in 2014 from Dr. Fanous she committed to continuing to provide quality veterinary care to the pets of Agassiz, Hope and the surrounding communities. As a privately owned clinic we pride ourselves on getting to know you and your pet so we can work together to provide your pet with the care they deserve.

Meet the Doctors
Dr. Pettis
Dr. Terri Pettis has been the proud owner of Agassiz Animal Hospital and Hope Veterinary Services since 2014. Originally from Winnipeg, she traded the frigid prairie winters for the beautiful mountain views of Agassiz in 2013. Dr. Pettis has a special professional interest in exotic pet medicine and surgery. She is currently off on an extended medical leave but hopes to return eventually to practice. Because Dr. Pettis is on leave we have limited our exotic side of the practice to only well visits for rabbits, rodents and reptiles. If you have a sick exotic pet you can call the office for recommendations of where to bring them.
Dr. Placente
Dr. Grace Placente started her career in her native Phillipines, where she worked for seven years before immigrating to Canada. She worked in the veterinary industry in BC for 13 years while working towards getting her Canadian license. She has been a fully qualified veterinarian since 2022 working at a corporate practice in Chilliwack. In 2025 she decided to leave corporate medicine and join Agassiz Animal Hospital and we’re thrilled to have her. Dr. Placente has a professional interest in surgery and in her spare time enjoys tennis and spending time with her sphynx cat. She is looking forward to meeting our clients, and working together for the best interest of their pets.
Dr. Kerkhoff
Dr. Anthony Kerkhoff is a local guy who after finishing veterinary college decided to return home to the Fraser Valley. He has come on as a long term locum, working a couple days a week with in both of our locations, he is happy to see exotic pets for well visits only at this time.

Veterinary Diagnostic Testing
We provide a variety of diagnostic testing through our hospital, both in-house and through various provincial laboratories. Our in-house services include radiographs, pregnancy ultrasounds, urine and faecal testing, as well as sample collection and submission for in-depth testing at affiliated laboratories. Surgery and Dentistry
Our skilled doctors provide a variety of surgical options from routine spays, neuters and dental cleanings to c-sections, amputations, foreign body removals and much more. Please call and book an appointment to find out more about the surgeries we provide.
Hope Veterinary Services
We provide routine medical examinations, vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick medication and labwork services at our Hope facility. Any pet requiring surgery, dentistry, radiographs or hospitalisation are referred to our Agassiz hospital.
